Character Info

◎ Character's Name: Four
◎ Character's Canon: Drakengard 3; Game
◎ Character's Age: Physically and mentally Four is around fifteen years old, she's only been in the world for two years due to being a product of The Flower when creating clones of Zero.
◎ Canon Point: Branch A, before she is killed by Zero.
◎ Background/History: Here. And more in her novella.
◎ Is the character a hacker and/or do they have a sixth-sense? Nope.

◎ Personality:

Being the second youngest out of six, one would expect that Four would be a character who is childish and spoiled. Expecting the world to be placed in the palm of her hand without having to put forth any sort of effort. Fortunately, that sort of personality is best suited for her younger sister, Five. She has the manners to match her dresses, and appreciates the hard work that her followers and Disciple put forth in order to please and protect her. Speaking kindly and without malice, wishing for justice and expressing ultimate distress when her eldest sister, Zero, sets out to kill them, only because she loves her and her sisters so much.

Now just note that this personality is only a facade when compared to her innermost thoughts. Four expresses herself as a mature young woman despite her appearances, but on the inside she is a foul-mouthed, disturbed individual with inferiority complex. Though this side of her is hardly ever exposed, even when she is killed by Zero by foolishly believing that her sister was being mind controlled, displaying a sense of nativity by always hoping for things to get better for herself. Because, in truth, Four is an incredibly selfish person. When push comes to shove, she'll cowardly stand behind her Disciple in order to protect herself; she values her life far more than the people around her and far more than one or two of her own sisters, which isn't so much of a surprise with how she speaks to and about Five, but for the others? Some might be completely shocked to how she thinks of them.

"I'm not the kind of idiot to blindly believe a man who would happily suffer a spoiled woman. Honestly, all "delicate girls" do is give off a kind of sense of just pleading to be protected, you know. Like Two nee-sama."

Four openly expresses the faults that she sees in her sisters without any hesitation, which continues to fuel her inferiority complex by constantly believing that there are traits about her that make her far more superior than her sisters. Insulting them thoroughly from their physical appearances to their overall personality and odd habits. Examples of this are given to us through the novella, where she openly expresses her distaste of Five's breast size and laziness, all while she mentally breaking down everything else that she hated about her sisters: How Two was so uppity and how Three was so careless.

But out of everything, Four stresses on her appearances the most.

Compared to the rest of her sisters, Four is the youngest and most average looking. While all her sisters have distinguishing features, she has... nothing. Her hair isn't as silky and beautiful as Three's, her chest isn't as big and meaty as Five's, and overall her body just is not as developed as her elder and younger sisters. It irritates her beyond belief, and when pushed over the edge by Five's teasing (or anyone's, at that), Four completely abandons her mature personality and throws dangerous tempter tantrums. Usually consisting of throwing around objects and purposely aiming for the person who managed to make her so unbelievably angry. Fortunately, once she has stopped, Four realizes her mistakes and is quick to clean up her mess with few complaints. Still, if anything, this only proves that Four is someone that anyone with common sense should actively avoid upsetting.

And if you think that's the end of Four's negative traits, you are unfortunately incorrect. Despite having the blood of many on her hands as a result of bringing peace to the land, Four believes whole-heartedly that she committed such sins for the greater good—for justice, with this same sense of justice being influenced on hopes of being shown appreciation by her dearest elder sister, One. (Which, once again, shows that Four is more selfish than she'd like to believe.) But even with that as her motivation, Four displays herself as a pacifist who believes that simply talking things out would be much more easier than senselessly killing others. Though her innocent act is continuously poked at by Gabriella, One's dragon, who witnesses Four's passive aggressive comments as well as her disturbed sense of what is considered 'human'. During her time with Gabriella, Four openly attacks a retreating force of elves who were to believed to be innocent, but thought nothing of it being murder because they were not human.

"They're evil scum, no need to hold back. For the sake of the new world, let's completely annihilate them!"

It's in this situation that Four is not only proven to have a wrong sense of justice, but is also insanely hypocritical. Once stating that killing others is unseemly sad, but then quickly turning around and murdering hundreds of innocent simply because they were not physically human. There's no harm done as long as it's for the sake of a peaceful world, is it? To her, the elves that lost their lives were only a waste of space who could possibly pose a threat towards her and her sisters in the future, so their existence was no longer needed. They're not actual 'humans', so it isn't considered 'murder', in her belief. It's not like they were going to contribute anything in the new world that her precious sister was planning on obtaining.

Still, Four does have some redeeming qualities to her. She openly expresses her appreciation towards Gabriella and Decadus, her Disciple, for accompanying her on their journey. Thanking them for both protecting her and—for Decadus, at least—believing in her. And with Decadus in mind, it should be noted that a Disciple is not only there to protect their Intoner, but to also relieve them of their high sex drive—however, Four is the only virgin out of her group of sisters, and is often teased for it. She believes that an Intoner and Disciple's relationship is a bond to be cherished, and thinks that a sexual relationship could possibly harm that. Of course, this adds to the superior air that she attempts to surround herself in, but also leads to another issue to poke and make fun of for others that will result into either crocodile tears or another tantrum.

Overall, Four is a young woman who is the opposite of everything that she wishes to be. Instead of being a refined and graceful woman, she is a selfish, spoilt brat whose insecurities about her physical appearance and qualities has her resent the people she's meant the love the most. But even then, she gives herself false hope; when she speaks of One, she believes that she can instead become wiser if her body won't develop. Still, she is envious over the fact that One has a larger chest than hers.

◎ Powers/Abilities:

Four is an Intoner, which is essentially a god-like being in her world. She is capable of using Song magic, which allows her to create shields from a single note or even summon creatures with an example being dragons. Four's own personal dragon is Zophiel, and she also able to summon a giant sky fortress called Armaros with the help of her disciple Decadus. But because Intoners are so strong and cannot be killed by simple means, there is also a side-effect to this that varies for each Intoner. For Four her nails grow at a ridiculous rate, which is more of a bothersome chore than anything else, but she detests them all the same.

As stated previously, an Intoner is a being that cannot be killed with the exception of dragons and other Intoners. Of course parts of a dragon (their teeth, claws, etc.) can also be constructed into weapons and used to kill Intoners. When doing so a black cloud releases from their body signaling their release from the flowers evil. Of course, coming into Cerealia, I am willing for this to change so she can die without the aid of a dragon. Her body also contains a regenerative ability, albeit weak in comparison of others, and does have side effects due to her not being Zero, the host of The Flower, and may become an undead zombie. Intoners are also capable of entering an "Intoner Mode" which enhances their speed and strength.

Another noteworthy part of Four is that she is extremely strong. Not only does her body capable of surviving attacks that would normally kill an average human being, but physically she is capable knocking back grown men and over-sized beasts yards away from herself. Really, she's capable of punching shit without batting an eyelash and can take a grown man down without breaking a sweat. It's to be expected considering she can take down armies of men without complaints.

◎ Third-Person Sample:

Four had adjusted quickly to this new way of life, only showing signs of hesitation whenever there was inevitable signs of battle approaching. And even then, with the permission and orders from One, Four only gave a silent prayer before crushing each and every soldier that approached her with malicious intent. Every plea for mercy was completely ignored and each attack that was given towards the enemy made it that much more difficult for her lips not to form into a smile.

This was all for justice, she tells herself. Every breath she managed to squeeze out of the foot soldiers and the beasts that stood before her were all for a brighter future—a future where she and her sisters could live happily all while protecting their share of land and the people who populated it. It was what drove her to such extreme lengths, to abandon her sense of innocence and wipe out whoever stood before her and her goal.

But that was selfish of her, wasn't it?

No. No! She wasn't like that! She wasn't like Five, who only thought of herself and whined for everyone else to finish things for her; she was independent and hardworking, pushing away her own desire to help her siblings. Even if no one ever praised her of what she had done, that was fine, right? ... Right?

"Ah, my hands..." Her voice was soft, staring down at her hands as blood painted her fingers red with an almost overwhelming stench that she's also grown used to. Breathing in the smell of an unknown human's blood, clenching her hands together and forming a fist as her brows knit and her lips curved into a slight frown. A part of her can hear Decadus' voice, asking about the current state of her well-being, but was easily pushed aside as a number of thoughts hit her like a ton of bricks.

This wasn't right. Why was she, an Intoner, not receiving the amount of appreciation that she saw fit? Two could easily gain a word or two of encouragement from her followers, and Five didn't have to do anything but flaunt herself around like the bitchcow she was—it was absolutely infuriating, biting her tongue hard enough that the pressure threatened to draw blood as she continued to ignore Decadus' voice.

Four remains silent, blocking out the rest of the world until she finally decided to crawl out of her own self-loathe.

"Lady Four, are you alright?" Asks Decadus, whose concern was so evident that she nearly felt like vomiting. Obviously she was fine! What sort of Intoner would she be if she couldn't easily defeat these low file and rank soldiers.

She breathes again, realizing that she had been holding in her breath for some time now, "I'm fine, Decadus..." In contrast to her thoughts, Four speaks with an almost angelic tone, her gaze leaving the sight of her blood soaked hands and turning towards her disciple. Her features soften immediately, giving him an almost sad smile as her inner most thoughts continued to repeat themselves again and again. "I had to say a silent prayer for all the souls lost in a pointless battle."
